Our Friday Lenten Devotions

Each Friday in Lent at 6:30 pm we gather in the Great Hall to share a simple meal.

After we eat we make our way to the church to pray the Stations of the Cross, hear a meditation, and adore Our Lord in the service of Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

The theme this year is a Meditation on The Ten Commandments.

March 6th: Fr. Jeffrey Stubbs, ssc, St Paul’s Church, Gainesville

I. Thou shalt have none other gods but me.

II. Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven image.

March 13th
: Fr. Ronald Drummond, St Stephen’s Church, Hurst

III. Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain.

IV. Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day.

March 20th:
Fr. John Kalimi, St Vincent’s Cathedral, Bedford

V. Honor thy father and thy mother.

VI. Thou shalt do no murder.

March 27th: Fr. Michael Heidt, ssc, St Mary’s Church, Hillsboro

and Our Lady of the Lake, Laguna Park

VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

VIII. Thou shalt not steal.

April 3rd
: Fr. Lee Nelson, ssc, Christ Church, Waco

IX. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

X. Thou shalt not covet.

Holy Week awaits!

The final week of Lent brings with it an opportunity to "enter with joy upon the contemplation of those mighty acts, whereby you have given us life and immortality."
